This 3-pin TO-220 device is a perfect complement to the TIP41 series, featuring high switching speed and improved linearity through HFE grouping. ## Description The TIP42C is a -100V PNP complementary silicon plastic Power Transistor designed for use in general purpose power amplifier and switching applications. 100V Minimum collector-emitter sustaining voltage (VCEO (sus)) 1.5V Maximum collector-emitter saturation voltage (VCE (sat) at IC = 6A) -100V Collector to base voltage (VCBO) -5V Emitter-base voltage (VEBO) 1.92°C/W Thermal resistance, junction to case Package include: 20pcs*Tip42c Review: Worked as advertised - Did the job, and the price was excellent. Review: Transistors worked great in our constant current amplifier. - The transistors were delivered on time and were well packaged. My student built a constant current amplifier using the npn and pnp transistor pairs and a 741 op amp along with some supporting resistors and a few capacitors. The transistors behaved as specified on the data sheets and our build was a great success. Use heat sinks if you think you will be drawing more that one amp or so in your circuit for a prolonged amount of time. In our build we were able to generate close to two amps in our AC coil which had a resistance of a few ohms and an inductance of around a few hundred microHenries.
