## Description

The MICHELIN Anakee Adventure tire is the most recent addition to Michelin's adventure tire line up and fills the void between the MICHEILN Anakee III and MICHELIN Anakee Wild tires as an 80/20 on/off-road tire. This tire provides excellent grip and handling on-road by utilizing MICHELIN 2CT and 2CT+ dual-compound technology along with MICHELIN Bridge Block Technology. Performance is enhanced by the use of a fully grooved geometric tread pattern to deliver uncompromising traction off-road.

Review: they ain't cheap - They are excellent 80/20s for a big adv bike. If 80-90% of your riding is pavement, easy gravel and dirt then these are great. If you want to send it through mud and deep sand then sticl with TKC 80s or Dunlop Trail Max. I replaced some Dunlops that were pretty good tires but these are WAY better on pavement and cornering. If I was going to do a BDR I would switch back to Continentals or maybe the aggressive Tusks but for ADV touring these Michelins are excellent.
Review: Performance of Anakee 3 on pavement, better on gravel. - Very good street performance. I've used all the Anakee tires on my three DL650 bikes. Logging more than 100,000 miles on various Anakee models. I liked the tread pattern of the Anakee2 over the Anakee3, so I was happy to see the additional choices of Adventure and Wild. This spring I had swapped over to TKC80 front and rears to deal with mud season, which the Anakee3 tires didn't handle well. Eventually I'll try the Anakee Wild as a replacement to my aging TKC80 tires. The TKC80s tires had been my winter tire, before I moved to a location where conditions don't allow me to ride during the winter. I mounted the Adventure tire, commuted for a couple weeks, then took an 8 day 3500 mile tour. 1000 miles of highway (each way) and lots of NC & WV twisty roads. One 20 mile dirt road out of Thurmond WV over 1.5" stone. The Adventures are slightly louder than Anakee3 tires at highway speeds, but with ear plugs it is hard to notice any difference. On the twisty roads I think the Adventures might actually be stickier than the Anakee3. I have yet to have them slide. I really liked the predictable traction limits on the Anakee3. You could feel it start sliding and traction was very linear and predictable. I have not yet experience how the Adventure looses traction on pavement. On gravel it is very predictable and you can slide out the rear nicely with a hearty twist of the wrist. I'm hoping the traction on the Adventure behaves like the Anakee3 and isn't an all or nothing tire. So far very nice tires for a VStrom and 80/20. I was also unfortunate enough to have the opportunity to plug my rear tire. Our gas stop in Cherokee NC before getting on the Blue Ridge Parkway revealed a screw in the center of my rear. Removed the screw, reamed out the hole an popped in a plug. Purchased new glue from the gas station and pumped up my tire with their air pump. Stopped on the Blue Ridge to test the pressure and let out air (air temps in the 90F range). By the end of the day I nearly forgot about it. We then road 1000+ miles home on the highway plugged. Ordering a new tire now, but plan to commute on the plugged tire for the summer.
