**Q: Should I use this with a Demineralization Cartridge?**
A: Yes. They serve different purposes. 

Demineralization Cartridges: Since most consumers do NOT buy distilled water for the humidifier/vaporizer, the manufacturer has created the demineralization cartridge  feature to remove the sediment from tap, well or spring water. Even if your home has “purified” water, there is a certain amount of calcium, lime or other minerals that are in the water- safe for us to drink, but as the water is evaporated, these minerals clog up the machine.

Aqua Stick: Because fungi spores, mold spores and  bacteria are in tap water already and also travel trough the air landing in the water to eventually grow and gum up the functionality and health benefits of the humidifier, the aqua stick is advertised as a means of reducing that kind of buildup. If you have ever noticed the slimy film that develops in water that sits too long, you know what I am talking about. If this slimy residue is in your tank, the mold, mildew or bacteria is being released airborne in the water mist and increases the likelihood of airborne illness, allergy and asthma problems as well as just making your machine gross and ineffective.

The bottom line is this: For optimum health benefits- keep the machine clean. If you want it to function properly, keep it clean. The demineralization cartridge and aqua sticks work together to keep the machine cleaner longer.

**Q: How to use this?**
A: Clean humidifier according to manufacturers' instructions.  After cleaning place 1 or 2 aquasticks into the humidifier.  For every gallon of water contained in the humidifier tank, use one stick.  Replace about every 90 days.

**Q: What are the 'other' ingredients listed at 99.82%? Thanks**
A: A package I got from home depot says aluminum sulfate as well as silver just fyi. Also just gotta say, W. Millers sugestion is a really good one. I've been looking for a product that dosn't have mystery/less than ideal filler ingredients companies arent' required to disclose, and prevents bacteria build up like silver does. But I also want something that prevents residue and scaling from mineral deposits, which citric acid will do. This is what I will use from now on, it works great.

A: Check with the manufacturer of the humidifier you are looking to use the product in. These were made for Pure Guardian brand humidifiers so use in any other brand is not recommended without first speaking with a customer service representative for that company.
