The rubber lining is a very good feature as I will be using it often to attach my iPhone to tables and other places so I can access it. The rubber will protect these surfaces (and my friendship with the owners)1364141339999/7. I am physically disabled and can't hold the phone. I have an In Your Face tripod cellphone holder with flex arm that screws onto any 1/4-20 thread stud.

This is a surprisingly strong clip, sized for a variety of surfaces. The rubber lining is a very good feature as I will be using it often to attach my iPhone to tables and other places so I can access it. Good quality. Perfect for a quick light setup in location(s) that are so cramped you can't get a regular kit to do the job. I use this mostly for kicker lighting. Same reason with my other purchase, a CowboyStudio Photography Gorilla Clamp Studio Mount.
