Review: Does what is says with high accuracy and comfort. - So the H10 is very good heart rate monitor. Works well during exercise, stretching, running, hiking and martial arts - generally fits nicely and snugly on the chest during all physical activity - that you can forget that it is on. Connection with smartphone during recording exercise - it is very well, it can loose connection if you are using other app requiring the GPS access, then you need to refresh the app (polar beat - just refresh) as other wise it will stop working due to some issues with multitasking and sharing processing at the smart phone. Alto it is work well if you use option of the recording the exercise with the H10 heart sensor and download after you finish. IT works well with watch, no problem at all, no loosing signal, very accurate. The software and app is extremely good and user friendly, providing very good analytical data, and information which you need in nice easy to read format. Compared to the Sunnto, and Garmin software - the way how the data is collected and presented was winner for me to choose the Polar chest heart rate H10. As did not have chance to test it in the water as the swimming - can not comment on that. It works well at the rain and storm weather when you are completely soaked tho :) The strap itself is good size with length regulation. Is has some silicon bumps which helps to keep it nice and comfortable in one place, so it not move around during the high activity exercises. It is very easy to change battery - which make this product last very long. Tested it connected to the watch and smartphone at the same time as it support simultaneously twin connection into the two devices at the same time!!! as well as it can work with one device, and on its own, no need to take phone with you - if you click in the app start recording with the sensor rather life recording with the app, then you can just go with the sensor and when you finish just download the information to the phone. So yes I would recommend it.
Review: Perfect for heart attack recovery monitoring. - A fantastic heart rate sensor! I recently had a heart attack and was looking for something to monitor my heart during recovery and walks. Firstly I tried a Fitbit Charge 6 and was extremely disappointed at the lack of functionality with regards to a dedicated HR screen. It's just an overpriced fancy watch with some exercise stuff. So I took a peek at Polar, after a recommendation from a friend (who is in the Navy and uses these for fitness tests). They're far cheaper than a Fitbit, easy to use, have an easy to use app with GPS to track your routes and it saves all the data collected onto your phone to review as time goes on. I've used this a couple of times and it feels okay, doesn't come off while walking, is fairly comfortable and simple to put on/take off. If you're looking for a more HR and ECG based device, definitely choose this rather than a Fitbit!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Polar H10 or Garmin HRM200? A Concept 2 User Review
*by S***S on 13 June 2026*

The heart rate belt that came with my PM4-equipped Concept 2 rowing machine finally failed after some 12 years of reliable use. It was a Garmin model, so my first thought was to head over to the Concept 2 website to see if I could get a replacement. Looking at their store page, I saw they now sold the much newer Garmin HRM200. It cost quite a bit more than I expected for such a piece of equipment, but needs must, as tracking HR in my workouts is a key part of my cardio training. Seeing that the HRM200 was sold by Concept 2, with provisos—I checked my PM4's serial number and firmware to ensure compatibility with the new belt and then saved myself a few quid by ordering it from Amazon :) The belt arrived, and I could immediately see how technology and design had changed in the years since my old belt was the current model. I see now that the sensor pod or module is detachable from the belt, and the strap looks a little wider for added comfort. This may not be the review you expected, but there is a point to this comparison that may help users of the Concept 2 rower with the older PM4 monitor (a model without Bluetooth) or users of ANT+ equipped exercise equipment. Looking at the new sensor pod on the Garmin HRM200, I find a button and, according to the manual, an LED indicator light, though initial searches failed to locate it. I spent two days trying to get the Garmin picked up by my PM4. Garmin’s more involved setup required users to press the button twice to place the belt in open mode, which the PM4 requires for an ANT+ connection. The Garmin’s LED was next to useless, as it was so ridiculously tiny as to make it almost impossible to see clearly. You would lose sight of it, mistake reflection for it, etc. In short. I had difficulty getting the overly complex Garmin to work. Searching Amazon, and recalling that Concept 2 used to also sell Polar chest straps, i didn't see any listed there. I was concerned about compatibility for this reason. If Concept 2 didn't offer the Polar H10 for sale, that may suggest issues with using it with their equipment. Anyway, reading more about the H10 and deciding that, as long as the belt offered ANT+ connectivity, I'd give the H10 a go. When the belt arrived, I saw that it used the same detachable sensor pod design as the HRM200, though the Polar one was a little flatter and broader. I noted that the mounting studs located on the belt for the sensor pod to snap into had wider, circular supports around the connection posts instead of the Garmin's solitary posts that could make the Polar's connection sturdier, especially if the sensor pod is pressed or leant against. The Polar's clasp mechanism to secure the two ends of the belt, though made of plastic and a tad more complex than the Garmin’s simpler, metal open-ended clasp design, felt easier to use when you were reaching around to your right side to fasten it. Further, the Polar's belt featured small, soft rubber studs to prevent slippage on a sweaty body, which was a nice design feature. The Polar H10 uses a smaller CR2025 battery compared to Garmin’s CR2032, but an estimated 400 workouts for the Polar was quite enough expected battery life. Though at this juncture, I'd like to credit my old Garmin belt, which lasted a decade on a single battery. Best of all, the Polar H10 had no pesky buttons or LEDs. This boded well as I donned the belt, and two minutes later I was sat on my rowing machine navigating the PM4's menu to the HR connection screen. There was the new Polar H10's ID code displayed along with my current heart rate. Simple! I couldn't believe it, in around 10 seconds flat, I had the new belt picked up and working! The PM4 had detected the new belt without issue. I selected 'remember', on the PM4 and voila, it was all set up—no buttons to fiddle with or LEDs that you cannot see were required. So far, I've used this Polar H10 without any issues for two weeks now. I don the belt, and after a minute of stretching, sit on my rowing machine, and my HR is detected without any fuss or fiddling around: it just works! Perhaps my Garmin HRM200 had a fault, which accounted for me struggling with it for two days before I gave up and returned it. I had seen a review of this belt from a user with a Concept 2 rowing machine, but I suspect they were using the newer PM5-equipped machine that supports Bluetooth. Perhaps connecting the Garmin via Bluetooth is a much simpler prospect than with older ANT+ based monitors. As a side note, I didn't use either the Garmin or Polar app to configure the belts in any way prior to use, so I cannot comment on their relative merits. I don't need an app, as I don't even own a smart phone, and perhaps this is why I liked the buttonless, lightless ease of use of the Polar H10 compared with the Garmin HRM200. All I want from a heart rate belt is to put it on and have it work. pressing buttons and checking the flashing status of an LED you can barely see isn't for me. Either way, for pure simplicity, the Polar wins over its nearest rival, hands down in my book. I'm sharing my experience of both to help anyone deciding which one to purchase. Reviews often leave readers wondering which option to go for, so I hope this comparison of both belts in the same price range helps.
