We dumped in a bunch of water bottles, filling it up. The ice/water lasted another 5 days. It definitely performed better with all the air space gone. Trip temps were 70°- 80°f the entire trip. Comparatively, this is a good deal. I still feel they are overpriced for being plastic and the $20 they cost to make, but thats the free market for you. This chest has VERY GOOD features: rubber feet keep it from sliding around the trailer, lockable with metal reinforcement, bottle openers, awesome drain plug which does not require removal to use, and a very necessary pressure relief valve.
