Knock on wood..........never a problem. I use it to do most of my food prep on too. My counter tops looks new still because of it. I'm here to buy another to replace the clear glass cutting board that my coffee maker and ground coffee live on on. I do not cut on the marble or glass boards as they dull the knives. Use wood or plastic boards for that. As for staining, the marble, if stained, cleans right up with a few drop of bleach on a paper towel and wiping the stained area. Ajax works but it will dull the board. **Q: is this product dshwasher safe?** A: I don't see why it wouldn't be dishwasher safe. I've not washed it in dishwasher, it is quite heavy and I don't think my cheep dishwasher will support it's weight. I do keep it on my counter at all times, i've put icecream on it and hot pans straight from the oven (not at the same time) and I haven't had any issues with it. It does have four plastic feet on the underside that are glued on, however I don't think they will be at all effected by a dishwasher. **Q: Is this cutting board easy to clean?** A: Easy to clean - but I wouldn't use it as a cutting board. I only use it for pastries. I was looking for something flat and large like this, not as a cookie board, and this is perfect. But if this product was looked at for simply a cutting board, it seems pretty good. It is very big and VERY heavy so do keep that in mind. It has little feet on the bottom of it that hold it about a half inch up. When I reserved it, it was very hot due to weather but cooled down after about 10 or so minutes out of the box.It could in a box, in a box. The box it came in was huge with a lot of extra space which was mostly filled with paper. I think it should be shipped in a shorter box, its about a feet and a half tall but whatever. There was a small amount of damage but nothing severe or surprising since it is made of a rock. It just arrived today and it was packaged with much care so that it wouldn't break in shipping. There was a massive box with a bunch of packing paper and a smaller box inside of it. The smaller box had a bunch of bubble wrap and finally the product box inside of it. The product box had a Styrofoam mold around the marble. Once I finally got to the marble itself, it was beautiful. It is nice and smooth, with no cracks, or scratches.
