Here are some thoughts for those on the fence...Just so you know my rating reasons 4 stars = "What I expected" (3 would be less but okay, 5 would be exceeding expectations)1) It will not stand up head-to-head with the more "name brand" units for speed and clarity. Don't get me wrong... it works "fine" but you have to wait a little bit for things to load on occasion.2) This instructions and manual are god awful. I am rather tech-savvy and was able to figure it all out but for some they would just assume that it is broken. Ex: To use the SD card function for media... the SD card must be formatted to FAT32. Not the normal NTSF that are mostly sold as the default format here in the states.3) There is a setting/function that allows you to reprogram your steering wheel controls to the new unit BUT you will need to by an adapter for that. So your steering wheel or rear seat radio controls will be dead unless you buy this adapter.4) The GPS is actually really good.... as long as you place the antenna real far up on your dash and way from all the electronic equipment. The maps are up to date enough for me, but you can buy updates from www.naviextras.com.--- So I guess in summary, its good for the price. I put it in a 9 year old car just for kicks as a pass-time mini-projects. If you are updating a new model or higher-end vehicle. It has some cheap qualities like the buttons along the bottom; they make a loud click when you press them and feel like they may wear out. I'll review the most used functions below.Nav: In the smartphone age, this feature really seems old and clunky on the pldnv695b. It shows a message "System memory low" half the time. Also, the turn-by-turn voice is '90s era computer sounding, and cuts out when trying to say street names. I would have saved $50 and gotten the non-gps version. Use your phone for navigation.DVD: works good!Radio: I like the screen layout of this feature and the presets are easy to setup.Bluetooth: works great. Easy to pair and downloads your phone book. Music streaming also sounds great.All in all, it's worth it if you buy it realizing that it's not as nice as its $700 name brand counterparts. It can download my contacts straight from my phone. It also plays music. It had a download button too for music but it was locked, maybe it's iPhone only or some other specific device.Navigation is pretty standard. Not too fancy, not too basic. Oh and I tried everything I could think of and I never got the out of memory restart people were talking about that I was scared of...thankfully! The few out-of-state addresses I had in memory came up pretty accurately on the map. If you could reply on how you go about getting map updates though I'd appreciate that because I heard there's no map update support for this!Tilt works fine. Press and hold for express movement otherwise it only moves a littleIt let's me choose different car logos for startup screen. Though I couldn't find Lincoln.
