Review: Great product for toddlers and preschoolers. - Overall it's a nice product. It's a good value for the money. What I didn't like about it is you don't have all 50 states separate . Some of them are joined together. And the one thing I do not like about this one OR any other one is they all show Alaska and Hawaii on the bottom left of the United States. That is not where they're both at in reality.

It is common knowledge among most people that a photo of a Mexican wearing a Sombrero leaning against anything like a cactus or a wall is generally seen as a negative stereotype and demeaning to the Mexican culture. It is meant to portray Mexicans as lazy. Amazon should remove this puzzle from it's site or they will be responsible for perpetuating this negative cultural stereotype.

**Q: Is there a way to oder a complete set of states without the board?  This is for instances when multiple pieces are missing or damaged?**

A: It is not made from wood.  The puzzle base is made of multiple layers of pressed material.  The puzzle pieces are made from a single layer of that same material.

**Q: It indicates there are 40 pieces, but there are 50 states. are some of the states joined together? thinking maybe the smaller ones in new england?**
A: The sizing of the puzzle is such that the New England States and New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. are sacrificed, without discrete puzzle pieces and state names and D.C. identified on discrete puzzle pieces. There are 40 puzzle pieces for the 50 states and Washington, D.C.
West Virginia and Virginia are one puzzle piece, with colors designating shapes.
Arguably, there is little if any learning value regarding the shapes of these states and D.C.; they are sacrificed.

Overall it's a nice product. It's a good value for the money. What I didn't like about it is you don't have all 50 states separate . Some of them are joined together. And the one thing I do not like about this one OR any other one is they all show Alaska and Hawaii on the bottom left of the United States. That is not where they're both at in reality.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice and educational puzzle

Since we moved to USA, I have looked some ways to help my four year old to learn about the local culture. This puzzle has been a very nice choice. The puzzle is well built with light wood, and has the name of all the states on the puzzle-pieces. Once you remove the pieces, you can see the names of the capitals under them. The puzzle is very easy since the pieces have distinctive colors, and the pattern on the board after removing the pieces has the same colors. So if a state is red, my son just needs to look at the red "shadows" to see which one has the same shape. I think this is good, since it allows younger kids to solve it. The pieces fit well, maybe a little too tight once you complete the puzzle, but my son has no problems with that. My only complain is that the lines to show the names of some states (New Hampshire, Massachusetss, Rhode Island) are not aligned with the pieces, but this is a small issue in an otherwise great puzzle. And my son loves placing the pieces of the states we have already visited! Additionally to the puzzle, we also got him this book: America's 50 States , with interesting facts about each state.
