I read reviews and took the advice about ordering smaller. I wear 9.5 and ordered the size 8. While they felt a little tight and were a little difficult to get on (a shoe horn would have been nice!), once on they felt secure. Secure enough that if you were doing lap swimming they would feel good on your feet. In the water, the shoes stretch a bit.
