That does make it a little heavier though - this is a robust piece of aluminium.The jaws move a little slower than a trigger grip, but grip with much more force. It also has proper rubber around the jaws.I can pick up a tin of soup or beans easily with this. I can also pick up a small bear buttle with a bit more effort (glass is more slippery). It's perfectly sized for this, most grabbers are useless for cans.Picking up heavier loads at a distance does need two hands, one to steady the pole, the other to grip.All in all a really good grabber.
