It’s said that semi metallic have more noise when applying the brakes and dust. I haven’t seen that at all. I wanted pads that would not fade when pulling any kind of load. And I wanted the best heat dicipation available. These brakes are amazing. If you’re using the cheapest brakes you can get, you’re risking damage to your front impact zone. I had a pair of the “cheapest” pads available on my 98 Nissan Altima (no ABS). While driving on the freeway at 70 mph, I needed aggressively brake to avoid a collision. My plan was to let the wheels just lockup (no ABS), then let up so the wheels weren’t skidding. All I felt was brake fade.
