I almost ordered one without the pullies and didnt realize until I got this one how much better it is with pullies. With these pullies I really get a good full body exercise and work up a sweat and heavy breath. And if you put more tension on the steps its really some work. I had to lower the tension to be able to go 15 minutes. I thought maybe the 15 minute restriction would be no good but its working out just fine. I do 15 minutes 2 or 3 times a day. Its only been a week so I cant talk about weight loss and muscle tone yet but I an feeling if I keep this up I’ll finally be able to get in shape. Finding the right exercise that you can keep a routine is critical. This is one of the very low impact exercises, and which is pretty much a full body workout. I was using a small trampoline before which is also supposed to be a great low impact full body workout but that broke, and in comparison I feel this stepper is more effective, especially for upper body. Often exercise machines end up being hunks of junk that take up alot of space. But this type of stepper takes very little space and is very easy to move around and change up your spot. So I would say that this purchase is very good and so glad I got it. Any suggestions?** A: This review helped me solve this issue. "After you pull it out of the box, you need to put the two pedals up and rest the unit standing on the front leg and top meter. Make sure you have the meter facing away from you. This will allow you access to the tension knob #11 located under the center bar. [Pull the pedals up so the tension rod is showing and] Adjust the cable fit around the wheel then tighten the knob. The cable may look a little loose around the wheel, but it will tighten when you place the unit flat on the floor and put the pedals down.To test if you did it correctly, one pedal will go up when you push the other down. It’s compact, easy to use, and provides a great workout without taking up much space. The resistance bands are a nice bonus and allow you to work your upper body while stepping. My only flaw with it is that the steps can be a bit slippery, so I have to be mindful of my footing while using it.
