These are not your standard butt connectors that do not form a reliable bond, especially in high vibration environments, such as in the automotive field. The centers of these connectors are made of low temperature solder that is heated with a torch and self-solders the wires together. The rest of the connector is made up of shrink tubing and a waterproof adhesive seal (at least this is what I see from a YouTube video. This technology seems to be brand new for 2018 and the earliest video I see on it is from early 2018.
