### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another Great Book in the Series
*by on Reviewed in the United States October 14, 2025*

This is the second book in this series. My son is really enjoying it too. The quality, printing, and illustrations are great. The plot is captivating and keeps kids’ attention from beginning to end.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Back to the world of Amulet
*by on Reviewed in the United States September 10, 2011*

This second volume picks up where the last story left off. Emily and Navin are trying desperately to stay ahead of the elves and to find a cure for their mom. The robots left behind by their great grandfather are doing their best to fill the kids in on the world around them and about the amulet that Emily now wears. But they can't provide much training on it. Enter Leon Redbeard, who helps the group escape the elves and meet up with the resistance...and provides Emily some much needed training on the Amulet. And before the end battles are fought and line are drawn. How will still be standing? The second volume is even better than the first. Kazu weaves a remarkable story through this series and presents strong, realistic characters. Another author might have tried to make Navin the hero or always looking to Emily to do things, but Kazu creates characters that are equally strong and provide encouragement and support to each other. Each new character that we meet has hidden depths to them and are more than they appear to be. I don't want to go into detail on that because its an important part of the story, but let's just say that everyone isn't who they appear to be.The artwork continues to shine and each new image gives us more and more detail into this new world that surrounds us. There are so many details to scope out and the detail given to each character is incredible. The scars, the fur, the nuts and bolts, each is given attention to make it unique to each character. And the colors. The colors are blow me away amazing with their vibrancy and life they bring to the characters. This series has something for everyone, whether young or old, male or female, robot or human, everyone can get into it. The first two volumes create an amazing ride and I look forward to see where we go next.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ And The Awesome Continues
*by on Reviewed in the United States October 1, 2010*

If you haven't read The Stonekeeper (Amulet Vol. 1), this review will contain some mild spoilers.Emily's problems only seem to be multiplying. She and Navin managed to rescue their mother with the help of their great-uncle Silas's creations, but their mother was poisoned and they must travel to a distant city in hopes of finding a cure. When she arrives, however, she learns that being a stone keeper is no small task. The disembodied voice that comes from the stone is trying to lure her to the dark side. There are people out to kill her, her brother, and her friends. Not only that, it's been predicted that she will kill the elf king and free everyone from his tyranny...but the only thing she wants to do is save her mother's life. This installment of the Amulet series is as well crafted as the last one. The illustrations are excellent, the coloring is phenomenal and complements the scenes' moods perfectly, the writing is well done as is the editing, and this time around we get to see a bit more character development. In the first book, Emily and Navin's characters didn't seem fully formed, but as more of their destinies are revealed, they both come into their own.The story also opens up more and it introduces an entirely new cast of characters and creatures and intense action. One aspect of the story, though, would be a stretch even for the truly young and imaginative. (Mentioning it would be a spoiler.) But overall, this was another winner and I look forward to seeing where the series takes me.
