I have been using Caruso since 1994 with no damage to my hair - not even on the ends. I have read some of the reviews by people who did not have luck using Caruso and have added some tips which may help those with difficult to curl hair like mine. When you shampoo your hair, be sure to use a good quality curl enhancing shampoo that is formulated specifically to encourage curl and don't use a conditioner that makes your hair incredibly soft. A light conditioner or even better, a good bodifying conditioner are your best choices. Mist your hair lightly with a really good flexible hair spray before you roll your curls. I mist the section I am curling while the curler is heating on the unit, and then I use a natural boar bristle brush to air dry and smooth the hair before curling. **Q: Can I buy just the foam inserts. The plastic rollers are still in great shape after 5 plus years of daily use!**
A: I also just buy cheap foam rollers from any drugstore and replace the foam. I've done this for years, and it works perfectly!

**Q: Only curls the end of my hair, even though I roll the whole section, help?**
A: I agree with other posters.  My hair reaches to my waist.  I start the roller about halfway down the section of hair, roll the ends and leave plenty of foam roller to also then roll up to the scalp.   BE SURE you are steaming the plastic covers, and I always shake them quickly before I put them on, to pop off any condensation that has accumulated because those drops will cause the curl to not take.  I also start at the crown doing the three front pieces framing my face first and then before unrolling I take off those 3 curlers shields, steam them again and put them on again and then remove them last.  Just my way of getting the pieces that frame my face to be as nice as possible!

**Q: Is there an automatic shut-off?  Will it shut off automatically when it runs out of water?**
A: No, not on the one I have. It doesn't have an on/off switch, so you have to unplug it.  I'm quite sure that it will NOT shut off when it runs out of water, so it is important to keep an eye on it.  I always empty mine out when I am finished so it is not sitting in water when not in use.  I have never really run out of water during a session.  Hope this helps!

**Q: I have shoulder length/fine hair - I put velcro rollers in, spray,& leave in for an hour  + & my hair will be flat in 2 hours. will this work for me?**
A: I have fine to medium hair and they worked perfectly.  My curls have lasted 2-3 days!  Be very careful to let each roller steam for only 4-7 seconds, and I steam the clamps as well.  From my experimentation with these rollers I've noticed the longer you leave these rollers in, the longer your curls will stay in.  It's also a good idea to lightly spray your hair with hairspray after you take the rollers out, then I just run my fingers through the curls and spray it again.  Another note, I only use distilled water because I think it makes the device last longer.  Hope this helps!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just bought...REALLY LOVE SO FAR

I just received these a week or so ago and have used them several times. So far---I'm totally taken with this system! Lately, my hair has gotten so frizzy, thin and damaged by constant lightening/coloring, illness and hormone fluctuations that it felt like straw and has been falling out more than I care to admit. That said, I've been very cautious about how I treat and style my hair. Of course, due to the health of it, my hair has also been more DIFFICULT to style--a vicious cycle, as some of you know. I have tried all sorts of curling irons, hot brushes, rollers, etc. They either didn't work or just made my hair more damaged by the day. Finally, I decided to get these Caruso rollers. The results have been AMAZING! For the first time in ages, my hair feels soft, pliable, and takes curl MUCH better. The curls last several days. The steam seems to be actually improving the condition of my hair! That, alone, is worth the cost of the product. Also, it feels softer and more manageable even after I wash it. My hair is shiny and looks professionally styled each day now. People have suddenly started complimenting me constantly about what gorgeous hair I have! To have gone from frizzy straw to that in literally a week is nothing short of a miracle! I will just say that it's important to not heat up each roller for more than 5 seconds or so. I like that they are not even hot to the touch this way. I was really skeptical about whether they would work, but they do! Also, I DO steam the shields (aka roller holders), as the instruction manual states. I haven't tried using the rollers without steaming the shields as well because I'm sticking with what works for now. I also use distilled water only. Additionally, I empty the water when I'm done and shake out any extra water left in the unit, so it doesn't sit wet when not in use (as I suspect this might contribute to its failure to work down the road--as some people have noted). All in all, I definitely recommend this product to anyone who has damaged hair and wants to restore its health, shine and body!
