It worked excellently as an internal drive, but I've tried 2 brands of USB 3.0 external enclosures and it won't stay 'recognized'. The moment I connect the drive, Windows pops up the Safely Remove Hardware tool, but the system doesn't recognize the drive until I go into Disk Management and enable it. I am able to use it just fine up until the drive is disonnected or powered down, but upon reconnecting I have to enable the drive once again. The enclosures are both current models, and FWIW I tried putting a WD Black in each enclosure and did not have any problems with it whatsoever.
