Great case but not that quiet.

*by S***N on Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2013*

This is a well made case, love the cable storage behind the Mother Board and the fans themselves are quite and move quite a bit of air. Sound Dampening, errr, not so good. I use stock cooler for my CPU so it is partly my fault, it sounds like a plane, but my graphics card is loud also, and I notice that is kinda rush and roulette trying to get a quite graphics card. The insides of the doors have dampening material but it is thin and hard, I don't know how affective they are, I'm wondering if without it it would make a difference. I remember back in the day you bought closed cell foam to sick on the insides of the case and it worked great, but it was soft to the touch unlike this stuff. The build is great though, love the door on the front and how the it has a double hinge so the door can swing all the way to the side if you need it to. The door also has foam on it but it is soft and really works, I have two Antec TrueQuiet 120 120mm Case Cooling Fans installed in the front of the case and on high they are quite loud on high but when I close the door I can't hear them anymore. It is an open cell soft foam though so they didn't put it inside because dust would stick to it and be a pain to clean. It also has dust filters on the front, the intake, and below the power supply, so that will cut down on dust in the case. The feet do seem a bit cheap like other reviewers said, but I have feet on my old case that can be fitted on this one, I already checked, so not a big deal. The old feet are not black but under the case you wont' notice as much. One negative review commented on the thin metal and how he could push on the top by the power button and it would bend. I laughed when I got my case and tried it, who in their right mind would push that hard right there? The metal is a little thin but this case is so heavy that if it was as thick as say my first case back in the early 90s it would weigh 20+ more pounds. If you want strong and light then go aluminum not steel. One area that lacks is the 5.25 drive by department, there are only 3 bays. For 99.9% of people not a big deal, I use my bluray in mine only to rip movies which is only about once a month or less. I however archive all my data on large HDs but I don't want them wearing out so I use hot-swap bays in my 5.25 bays and so I only have room for two of them along side my bluray. Two is the minimum I can live with but if I want a bluray drive then I don't have any left over for a fan controller or anymore front side ports. They however have 6 internal drive trays for HDs. How crap, 6. A few of them could have been eliminated for another 5.25 drive bay. Well, then that would cut down on a intake fan also, so I'm not sure I'd want that anyway. It is also a mid size case so I don't know what I was expecting. . .So I only took one star off for the sound dampening, or lack of, which I think is fair. Everything else with this case I like and understand why it has the negatives. This is by far the best looking case I have owned and I have had some much more expensive cases. I use every case for a few builds and I think this one will last me longer than any case I have had thus far. I recommend it whole heartedly.

    Great case, but not quiet

*by M***. on Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2014*

I read a lot of reviews before I decided to purchase this case, and what ultimately helped me decide was the ability to route the wiring behind the motherboard so that more airflow could get across the motherboard and the expansion cards. Also the fact that there are seven drive bays that all point the same direction, and if you put two intake fans in the front, the airflow is routed to go right through the drive bays. Some reviewers mentioned that the wiring from the power button and front panel were almost too short, but I didn't find this to be the case, since my motherboard is an older (3 years) atx style board, and notedly, these reviewers were using the newer extra large atx boards. I had some concern that my EVGA SuperNova Nex650G modular power supply wouldn't fit, but again, there were no issues with that. Plenty of room at the bottom for just about any standard power supply, even with the rack-style bar that comes out of the back of my power supply.Other reviewers have said that if you are looking for a quiet case, this one is not that quiet. I have to agree with this assessment, as my machine seems to make more noise than my old case did, although this is still not a 'deal-breaker' for me. I plan on reducing the number of fans, and replacing the ones I have with Cooler Master silent fans. Right now there are six fans in the case, two of them in the top of the tower, one in the back, and one in the front, plus two behind the hard drive bays. A little over-kill, I think, so I may remove the front intake fan and disconnect one of the top fans. Hopefully, this will eliminate some of the noise without taking away essential cooling power. The front door does muffle the fan noise of the front intake fans, but not completely.Even with this issue, the pros outweigh the cons in my opinion. Plenty of room in the case without wiring clutter, lots of clear air-flow and good sturdy construction. I did not find the feet to be flimsy or of cheap construction like one of the reviewers said, and I have moved my unit several times since I put it together. There was one issue that bothered me, but I think this is due entirely to the fact that the case is made for newer style boards. My board is an ASUS M5 A88-V EVO, which has support for two IDE drives, whereas the newer boards have eliminated the IDE support in favor of the newer SATA standard. I have two IDE drives in use, so routing the cables for the IDE drives required me to swap the placement of the IDE drives to the middle of the drive bay section, as the 40-pin IDE cables were too short to reach otherwise. Not a big deal, but eventually, I will be buying a large capacity SATA drive to replace the two IDE drives, since I plan on upgrading my motherboard to a newer ASUS model that does not carry support for IDE drives, although it will be backward compatible with my AMD six-core processor and 16 GB of memory.I am in hopes that this board will last me through many more upgrades, including the video card. Should anything substantially change, I will come back and update my review, as I have been using the case now for about a month (with no issues other than the noise).

    Brilliant

*by J***K on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 25, 2012*

This is the best case I have ever owned or used. It has features I had not thought of for example the rubber flaps on many of the openings designed to reduce vibration. I have not found a single edge that would cause discomfort in the normal course of events. The case is constructed from a good gauge metal which makes the entire unit stiff and gives a reasuring feeling of strength.Things have definatly moved on since the last case I purchased (12 yrs back) I love the cady system for the hard drives, they are a brilliant idea. I had to install my caddies upside down so that the SATA plugs were not put under stress which caused me to loose one of the bays. I'm thinking of looking for replacement cables though so that I can use that one lost bay. Both sides of the case come off which is great for access. I like the rubberised nuts that secure them, its just that one of many small considerations that make this case a worthwhile purchase. The 12cm fans which are allready installed are a very usefull extra. They even have small swirches to turn them off if needed....great idea. There is provision for 4 extra fans designed to cool the hard drive bays, I will be making enquiries for the purchase of the same make of fan as those already installed. If I ever need another there will be no question what make I will go for.
