So, I purchased the remote for my 2007 Hyundai Elantra, then had it re-programmed at the dealer (!). A week later, someone was setting off my car alarm from a close range distance in my neighborhood. It was clearly intentional, as the person would only mess with my car's alarm on Saturdays between 11 AM and 1 PM. This went on for months. I called the police, they couldn't do anything, because the car had not been stolen or broken into. The dealer swore that there was no way it was their fault. And, because of where my house is situated, there was no way of knowing exactly WHO was setting off my car alarm. Finally, I got fed up with constantly pressing my fob to stop the alarm from sounding and purchased a new car.
