Review: Good NMEA 2000 starter Kit - Good NMEA 2000 starter kit. I chose this starter kit for 4 reasons. 1) It's a Garmin product and Garmin makes good stuff. 2) The power connector plugs into a NMEA 2000 tee. I bought a 4 way tee for under the dash and this power cord plugs into this tee thereby eliminating a tee connection, an additional point of failure, and makes a cleaner installation. 3) It comes with a fuse holder. 4) It's yellow to quickly differentiate it from other connectors on the 4 way tee. 5) The kit includes a 6 meter backbone cable, so I can run the NMEA 2000 network to the back of the boat.

**Q: is this starter kit for 2- devices?.**
A: It’s a NMEA starter kit for as many devices as you want. It supplies the necessary Ts and drops to put power to the backbone and add your first device. All Garmin NMEA 2000 devices that you purchase will come with a drop and a T. This is a great starter kit for your N2000 buildup. It’s the one I used.

**Q: If I install this onto a garmin echomap64cv wife's it show the engine parameters. Or will I need another cable?**
A: Short answer is no, you will need to connect your engine to the N2000 backbone via a drop cable and T

**Q: Will this connect to my yamaha f115xb or do i need an additional cable?**
A: I needed an additional cable for my Honda but it’s worth the cost.

**Q: I plan on hooking up my vesper b-8000 ais to the garmin nema 2000 backbone which will be connected to my garmin 4210 chartplotter.  advice??**

Good starter kit for a correct price knowing how much are sold each of the parts separately, it would be nice to have a bit more documentation, or at least a link to some example of nmea setup, especially for the connections to the 12V power circuit like the type of terminals to use for example.

I wish I would have paid more attention. You can not connect any nmea2000 devices to chartplotter without an additional tee.
