This is the real deal. We tried to save Β£2.50 and forgot to read the reviews on a rival product to this. That other product snapped in first test. This bolt ain't going nowhere. The action is amazingly smooth, the finish is perfect, it's a lock, it locks, what's not to like? It even comes with a variety of slots to suit your frame/installation. My only caution to you is that it comes with old fashioned screws for a flat head screwdriver. This will almost certainly be for aesthetic reasons, although you could substitute your own posidrive head screws, of course. I went with the shiny screws provided, and installed it myself (an amateur). My caution to my fellow DIY enthusiast is to please take care. Despite being reasonably competent, my screwdriver slipped a couple of times. The nature of such screwdriver tips is that both sides are sharp. As a result, I scratched the surface of the previously perfect Genuine Carlisle Brass. Gutted. Though still very content with the final result.
