This is an excellent collection of defining tunes, styles and moments that span the career of Chet Baker, who I feel is a greatly under-rated musician and vocalist.  The liner notes provide a history of his career, together with his ultimate consumption by heroin, which is both interesting and immensely sad.  I have often wondered why so many incredibly talented jazz musicians and vocalists become addicted to and have their lives ruined by heroin.  Great music here, but a sad life...
