In 2007, Teroforma re-engineered a centuries' old Scandinavian tradition of using cold stones to cool stove-hot liquids by creating a new way to chill your favorite liquors without the diluting effects of ice. Teroforma's thorough process focused on creating a closed-loop sustainable production process for materials in the USA. If you want to do so, I suggest storing the bottle in the refrigerator or just use ice cubes and deal with the dilution. Chances are however, if you are after a super cold drink, you don't care about dilution, as both harm the flavors of the beverage, so this product is not for you in the first place. This product is meant to put a slight chill on whiskey to take the edge off, but not so cold as to ruin the flavor, and without diluting it with melting ice. For that purpose, they do their job perfectly. Combined with a proper glass, this product has thoroughly increased my enjoyment of scotch whiskey and bourbon.

As some of the other reviewers mentioned, these are not meant to fully chill your drink. If you want to do so, I suggest storing the bottle in the refrigerator or just use ice cubes and deal with the dilution. I am really impressed with these whisky stones. I've used them for whisky, with great success, but I also use them for water, soda, and juice. I had a glass of soda, which I left on the counter after drinking the soda. I came back to the glass the next day, and the stones were still cold! I'd recommend them for anyone seeking to cool down a drink with out watering it down, but I also think these are great to have on hand in lieu of regular ice! We don't have an automatic ice maker, so it is nice to have a few on hand when we have to wait for the freshly-made ice to fully freeze. Great product!
