So far, they have protected the plants very well against hail and chilly temps. I did worry that the weight of the kozy coats could crush the plant if it ever fell on it so I placed it on the outside of a tomato cage and that worked great. It obviously creates a warm environment, which you can feel if you stick your hand down in on a warm day.
