Whether it is for temporary lists or doodling it does exactly what it says it does. It has clean lines, an easy to use erase button, and a lock to prevent accidental erasures. It uses what is probably the most common button battery, CR 2025, and comes with a free replacement. It has a stylus that locks into the pad and it also comes with a free second stylus. It's certainly worth the price point, and worth trying. I'd recommend it.-----About a year ago I bought one of those magnetic doodle boards for my son. It's one of those that have the metal/graphite shavings in the board, comes with a magnetic stylus and stamps to draw on it, and a swipe bar at the bottom to erase everything. It was loved and well used.Two or three months ago I decided to "upgrade" him to a different style of drawing board. I'm not sure what it was called but it had a backlight behind the drawing surface and came with 5 special markers to use with it. It was actually a really cool concept; you turn the light on, mark on it, and it looks like the marks are "glowing". The execution, though, left a lot to be desired. The main deal breaker issue was that it wasn't dry erase-able and a regular wet paper towel also wouldn't really clean it (it would just smear it). So, I was stuck using glass cleaner every time he wanted to erase it, which was extremely often with a doodling 3 year old.-I saw this board and figured I'd give it a try. I'd say it is sort of between the two previously mentioned boards, but closer to the magnetic doodle board. You don't get a bright glow like a backlight and you don't get multiple colors, but you do get nice crisp lines without dead spaces and you don't have to physically clean it every minute either.Realistically it's just a super simple drawing pad, like a pen and piece of paper, except the "paper" is black, the pen has bright green "ink", and you simply press a button to erase it instead of getting a new piece of paper. All of that is said as a good thing though. I imagine it would be nearly perfect for a to-do list, reminders list, or any other type of temporary list, and it works pretty well for his needs as well.I knew what I was getting when I purchased it, so I don't have any complaints. But, there are two things I'd change to make it a perfect doodle pad for kids, if it was even possible: make it brighter and have the option to change colors as you want. I know that they make similar pads with a rainbow effect that shows up as you mark, but in my opinion that is even worse for a drawing pad; random colors for random objects. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Minimize Paper Waste! *by T***J on Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2021* This is a perfect product for reducing post-its and lists. My product arrived with the tablet (red/black) and attached stylus (red), a spare stylus (black), two (heart-shaped) magnets, a spare battery, and a micro screwdriver for replacing the battery.I also own a Boogie Board LCD tablet with all of the same features except for the locking option. My comparison notes are:* The Kimiandy tablet is lighter weight than the Boogie Board. This may change if I decide to attach the magnets. The Boogie Board came with magnets installed.* Writing on the Kimiandy tablet produces broader lines than the Boogie Board with the same amount of pressure. Using a very light pressure on the Kimiandy tablet produces a fine line that is equivalent to the Boogie Board. Both produce broader lines with increased pressure.* The contrast (background to line) is lower on the Kimiandy board than the Boogie Board (writing on the Boogie Board is brighter). However, I have not ruled out that the battery in the Kimiandy tablet might be old or bad and that replacing it might brighten the display. It is absolutely bright enough to read, but noticeably dimmer than the Boogie Board.*The attached stylus is harder to remove from the Kimiandy board. Because it must be pulled out and away by gripping the base of the stylus, I could see this being less natural for someone who is left-hand dominant. I have not tested the stylus tip's resilience, but the storage style makes me fear that I might inadvertently break it if I try to remove it incorrectly. Fortunately, the nature of these tablets means that, even if I lose or break the stylus, the tablet can still be used as intended (I often use the back end of a pen or a capped marker when I misplace my stylus).* The Boogie Board was purchased two years ago for $20-$25. The Kimiandy Board was purchased this week for $10 (minus a coupon, which will probably not always be available). They're the same size and do the same job.If you want a note board, a task list, or a doodle pad - for ANY age - this is a perfect product.
