## Overview

The RDP Fuel Tank Sump with Integrated Return is a universal-fit, aircraft-grade aluminum upgrade designed for diesel trucks (Dodge Cummins, GM Duramax, Ford Powerstroke). It simplifies aftermarket fuel system installation by requiring only a single 3" hole cut, includes a built-in fuel return to avoid filler neck modifications, and features a dual O-ring seal for leak-free performance. Its stand pipe design ensures clean fuel delivery by separating return fuel from feed, making it ideal for both stock and aftermarket tanks.

## Description

The RDP Fuel Tank Sump with Built-In Fuel Return provides you with a perfect option to maximize fuel delivery, and customization when installing your aftermarket fuel system. Avoid the common 1/4 tank issues associated with in-tank draw straws used with fuel systems such as AirDog, FASS and many others. The RDP sump features a one-hole design that only requires drilling a single hole for installation. A machined groove for the o-ring gasket ensures a leak-free seal, and the inner-ring is designed to fit into the bottom of the tank without requiring you to remove it from the truck. We even include a 3" hole saw for drilling your tank! What sets this sump apart from the other sumps in the RDP lineup is the built-in return. Installation of most aftermarket fuel systems require you to cut and "tee" into your factory fuel filler neck. In some cases, modifications to the filler neck can cause leaks, and also cause fuel pumps to "click off" when refueling. Using the built-in return port, you can easily route return fuel back to the tank without having to modify any other components for a clean and easy installation. For optimal fuel quality, the RDP Sump features a stand pipe that places the returned fuel above the fuel feed. This design eliminates the possibility of feeding your engine the aerated return fuel coming back to your fuel tank. Includes barbed fittings for 1/2" hose.

Review: Good Value and Works as Advertised - This wasn't an easy installation, but it wasn't difficult. I installed the sump in a 2013 Chevrolet 3500 long bed. I didn't cut completely through the tank with the hole saw. Left maybe 1/32nd or less and then just with a knife. I had very little pieces in the tank to clean up. The hole I cut was in front of the stock unit and about 1 1/2 inches towards the outside of the tank. The arm for the stock fuel sending unit come forward and by cutting the hole off of the center of the tank I hand no interference with the arm. I did do some deburring inside the sump to clean up the threaded areas. There were a few fragments that could have come loose. Other than that the machining and fit was perfect.
Review: Love it - Great product but hole saw is for plastic tanks only, had to buy a metal cutting saw for my application. But works perfectly

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great if you seal the fittings properly (advise a flat rubber or teflon washer)

The sump pickup was easy to install and price was really good compared to name brand ones. It it a bit bulky and obviously hangs lower than the fuel tank about 1”. The design is good but you may want to mark which side is feed and return. I installed it on a 2004 Ford F-250 and decided to modify my fuel tank skid plate to keep the protection (see pics). Take your time cutting the hole with the supplied hole saw. The more precise your cut, the better the fit. Be sure to clean the surface of the tank, the sump o-ring slots, and mounting face (I used a wire brush on the inside of the sump). For extra leak protection, I used teflon tape on the two bolts that hold the upper and lower parts together. Leaking from the supplied brass fittings was inevitable since there is no flange or flare. The first time I put it all together, I only put a few gallons of fuel in the tank to check for leaks. Yes, it leaked about a drop every minute or so from the fittings with just teflon on the brass threads. So, I drained the fuel out and and removed them. The second time was successful, I wrapped the threads in teflon, put a thin o-ring on the fittings then cleaned the sump threads well and applied Permatex (gasket maker) BLACK OIL RESISTANT RTV lightly inside and on the brass threads. Once the fittings were tight, I packed RTV over all of the fittings and let it sit for several hours to cure before putting fuel back in. No more leaks! I believe cutting a chamfer to allow an o-ring to seat would solve the issue but, a flat rubber or teflon washer would probably do well too.
