Way better than the older ones I’ve used in the past where you had to hold the solder against the gun tip. It has its own on and off switch to start the heat, the solder is attached right on to the back of the gun and feeds through when you pull the trigger. Makes it so much easier to make precise lines, and gives you a free hand back to work with for turning or adjusting the object you’re working on. Great for crafts, which is what I’ll be using it for. Looks exactly as pictured and the seller had it to me promptly. Arrived with no damage and was super easy to operate/get started with. Review: Works well - Got a bad one the first time. Seller sent replacement no hassle. This unit works great. Gets up to temperature fast and melts even 70/30 lead/tin solder fast (lead melts at 622° F). No cold solders. Solder heats up fast and flows nicely. 60/40 tin/lead melts even faster (tin melts at 450° F). Pistol grip is easy to handle.
