Review: Love this reel! 10/10 recommend - This is my second fly reel. I bought the 3/4wt size to pair with my Maxcatch 3/4wt rod and it is a perfect fit. The mounting plate is secure and doesn’t wiggle at all. It ordered it with the line pre-spooled, but there is an option to order it empty and spool whatever line you want. The line that came with it was good quality and came with backing, fly line, and a 9 ft tapered leader. Flipping this thing around small creeks is a blast. If you’re new to fly fishing, maxcatch is definitely the way to go for affordable and high quality gear!!
Review: Nice reel for the money - Nice reel for the money. Seems well made and comparable to name brands that cost 3 to 4 times the amount. Drag seems good and adjusts easily. I am using it for warm water flyfishing, so drag not real important. The included fly line seems OK but will probably replace it with my usual brand. However, I would have had the line cost even if I had bought the name brand at 3 to 4 times the cost, so not losing anything. Very happy with purchase. Will just have to see how it holds up over the long haul, but if it only lasts half as long will still be ahead.

This is my second fly reel. I bought the 3/4wt size to pair with my Maxcatch 3/4wt rod and it is a perfect fit. The mounting plate is secure and doesn’t wiggle at all. Nice reel for the money. Seems well made and comparable to name brands that cost 3 to 4 times the amount. Drag seems good and adjusts easily.
