Looking for a alternative to oil based inks because they are such a hassle to clean up.** A: If it gets too wet it will smear. And if it doesn't have time to absorb in to the paper, it will also smear. Try Sumi ink. It dries completely and won't rub off. Plus I believe it's waterbased **Q: Is there a scent from this ink and is it non-toxic made from non-toxic ingredients?** A: My students always notice a smell when they walk into my room during printmaking, but they also mention a smell when we are working with clay. It is not super strong and I was fine working with it while I was pregnant and was very sensitive to all smells. I cannot speak to non-toxic, but I did feel more comfortable using it while pregnant than with an oil based ink. **Q: does think ink work well with needle tip applicator?** A: No. It's too thick and on the sticky side. **Q: can I use acrlic paints over these once they are fully cured? Or no because they are oil based?** A: Rule #1: no acrylics over oils.
