The basket is 17" wide butthey tell you 18" just in case there are door hinges that protrude into the opening. Measure across the opening and include any door hinges that stick out from the sides of the opening. If the opening is less than 17 1/2 inches you should have plenty of room. **Q: has anyone installed on the upper shelf of a lower cabinet? I installed them on the "floor" of the cabinet, want them on shelf above too!** A: Yes we did. We have cabinets under the kitchen counter.We installed the roll out on both the upper and lower shelves in these cabinets.I am very happy to have them.
