Review: Perfect. - It does a really good job at cleaning all the junk in the barrel of my AK-74, tried it on my dad's AR-15 and same thing. It's got no bronze brush bristles on it but has on either end a threaded brass bit to screw a bronze brush onto. The value is ok, there are some cheaper options, but I went with this one since all the brushes I have are the same thread as the ends for this one and because my dad ruined my one and only .22 cal brush after he used it to clean out a connector for a trailer light.

**Q: What size is "pistols", "rifles" and "smcal"?**
A: http://www.otistec.com/pc_product_detail.asp?key=7E6C67788C2C47859DB5A96A5A4F27A5find the appropriate SKU number off the Otis site, then match it up with the "Item model number" on amazon (about halfway down the page, use control+F to Find it). you might need to go through all the drop down options to find it, but most (9mm, .40, .223/5.56 for sure) should be there

**Q: So how do you clean this thing?  Toss it in the washer like a boresnake?**
A: I'll probably hand wash mine with detergent and let it air dry.  The product info says don't put it in a washer or dishwasher (!?!!) because of harmful lead particles, etc.  I don't want it in my washing machine.

**Q: Would the 17hmr work for the 22lr**
A: Likely would fit through the bore but probably would not do a very good job scrubbing it out properly.  Action is dependent on pulling through in direction of rifling along with proper pressure.  I would definitely go on and invest in one designed for .22 caliber.  They do work very well.

**Q: Which one for 22lr?**
A: The same as .223.

I like to keep my rifle clear and clean at all times - I keep my ripcord with me in my bag - before I put my file back in the bag I use the rip cord several times while the barrel and muzzle are stil hot to the touch.
