We had replaced our pool ladder as part of an overhaul on our pool this year. The escutcheon is bright and comes with a blue film over it for protection. It fit perfectly with the SR Smith ladder we purchased. Only down side is price - SR Smith thinks a lot of their products and this one is no exception. You can find other brands cheaper and I don't think this is a part which requires the SR Smith price tag. In fact, I had expected to receive 2 escutcheons for the price they were charging and was surprised when I only got one. (Caveat here - there was nothing in the description that indicated I should get a pair - it wS just my assumption based on price.).
