After watching a few youtube vids on best way to use them. Made a huge difference on steep uphills, and negotiating rocky downhills. Was very happy to have them when my leg cramped up for a bit. I'm 6'1" 220lb, and never felt like they'd break or anything. Folded up easily to stow on my pack. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sharknado? *by T***X on Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2020* I love the shark bite straps. I gave away a pair of Paria trekking poles to a fellow ultra runner after I got these. There was nothing wrong with the Paria poles, they're a great bargain and a perfect intro pole for folks new to going long but I found getting my hands in and out of the strap on them annoying. Not impossible, not hard, just annoying.With these you leave the straps on your hands and just unhook them. They open and fold about the same as any collapsible poles overall. I'm not 100% sure about the longevity of the 'pen click' type mechanism to lock them in and release them but we'll see. They are light and strong. The adjustment range is perfect for me. I am 5'11". Typical Leki quality which is very good.
