The first time the result was as shown, and it lasted about a week, but I got three good uses out of the bottle with that much hair. The most recent time my hair has grown quite a bit darker and I wasn't sure if it would show up, but for about two days after use under bright light there was a definite red colour to my hair. I don't know what it would be like with bleached or light coloured hair, but even with mine which is so dark I was impressed that I got that bit of colour.
