I recently found this technology and as a gamer I figured this would boost the look of my "game room". It is a cool product to have, I just wonder how it compares to others because frankly...it could be better. Brightness & Color Range:As stated before, I am relatively new to this kind of product, but I was expecting it to be a bit brighter. The light clearly illuminates the edge of my TV screen and extends about 8-12 inches of fading light. I don’t imagine a scenario where I would have the brightness any lower than max.The color selection is large and diverse. There are a couple colors that appear very similar which makes me wonder why they are there (Possibly as a selling point, idk). Blues, greens, and reds all look great and they look great to be honest. Light Patterns: There are four light patterns included that will determine frequency should you want the lights to change color. My preferential is the fade or smooth because it transitions in an almost unnoticeable fashion rather than changing from one color to another quickly. A feature that I think would be cool is single-color flashing or pulsating. Remote: Now for what probably is the biggest negative for me, the remote control. The remote is organized nicely on the face, but feels very cheap. My greatest issue with the remote is that sometimes random buttons refuse to work. The solution I have found is picking a different color first then press the button again, but this is not an acceptable solution for me. When a color is pressed, it should function correctly, end of story. Conclusion: Would I buy this product again knowing what I know now? The answer is a big "I don’t know", allow me to explain: I haven’t tried alternative products, but found 2 others in this price-range that I was considering before purchasing this one. Without having tried the other options and even those that are more pricey it would be difficult to conclude whether they are better, worse, or on par with this one. For $12 it was worth a gamble and I don’t plan to purchase another option any time soon to do the comparison myself.I hope this review was helpful to those considering purchase of this product. Thank you! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Item worked for a few days *by M***U on Reviewed in the United States on 21 February 2019* This item worked great!...for a few days. I would turn my TV on and the LED lights would turn on and then when I turned the TV off the lights would turn off. PERFECT! This was the whole reason I bought the USB powered version of these LED lights. I didn't want to have to press the power button on the LED remote every time I turned the TV on and off. I wanted them to turn on/off automatically based on when the TV was powered on/off. A few days later the LED lights started flickering once in a few minute intervals in the middle of the night. This was annoying because the TV I installed these on was in our master bedroom and we were trying to sleep. At first I thought it was lightning but once I realized I found the remote and turned them off. The TV was wall mounted and we had to take the TV back off the wall to get access to the lights. Everything looked fine; connectors secure between the strips and light strips all going in the right direction. Things started to get worse as the days went by. I'd turn the TV on and then off and lights would turn on and off as expected...except about a minute after turning the TV off the lights would turn back on and now stay on while the TV remained off. I don't know what changed to cause these lights to do this. No TV software update or anything like that. There is a slim chance the TVs USB port was having issues and it's not the lights fault. I bought another set of these lights and the same issue occurred so I returned both sets. If you want to use the remote to turn these lights on and off then it's a great set but if you're buying these so they'll come on/off automatically when the TV is powered on/off then look elsewhere. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Missing parts, doesn’t turn off automatically *by A***X on Reviewed in the United States on 31 December 2018* If I didn’t get a return item, I’d be surprised. The box it came in was in rough shape like it was sat on and it was missing the in between connector pieces that make it so you don’t have to bend the LED stripe.It also doesn’t turn off automatically with the TV.However it serves its purpose and will be better than using a house light.Update: After a few days, the seller contacted me to offer any assistance or help regarding the issues I mention above. While I don't feel like it is necessary, it is still nice to have a seller dedicated to their product and reputation. They offered to send a replacement because it was missing those parts, or offered a refund because it doesn't turn off with my TV which he mentioned isn't compatible. (I'm not sure why a 2017 Sony XBR 850E isn't compatible, but hey, maybe it isn't..)I didn't accept either solution as the product still does what I wanted i to.
