Review: Does the job as described - Used this to repair a corroded/leaking engine oil pan on a vintage automobile.
Review: Take your time, surface prep is key. - The oil pan on my race car had a "cold" weld at a fitting. It was difficult to find. I allowed the oil to drain away from the "crack" for a few days. Sanded the area with 60 grit cloth, and wire brushed to remove any and all paint. Cleaned with Chemtool. Applied a liberal amount of epoxy with popsicles sticks. I allowed the epoxy to cure for 24 hours. I used my heat gun on a low setting to help cure the epoxy. Added oil a day later. No leaks. Subsequent inspections, no leaks. Take your time. Avoid applying in cold conditions, to avoid running, and dripping epoxy. I was applying the epoxy in an overhead position.

## Features

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I need some quick-setting permament glue/epoxy for small copper pipe pieces that won't be used for plumbing. Is this my best option?**
A: Loctite Weld is very similar to JB Weld, and I think both would work for the application. However, what I found with Loctite Weld is that once you open it, it won't last very long before it hardens in the tube, even when the two components are not yet mixed. I contacted Loctite when I thought something was wrong with the package I got, and they confirmed that once open, it will harden. I've never known JB Weld to do that, so for the slightly higher price, I've gone back to using JB Weld exclusively, simply because you can use it all up if you use it in small quantities.

**Q: Could I use this to glue a metal hinge to a plastic arm? Glasses :) The hinge was inset into the plastic arm with some kind of glue that came apart...**
A: Yes, if you have already bought it. But if you haven't, I'd recommend JB Weld, as it is a little stronger, and lasts a long time after being opened, whereas the Loctite epoxy doesn't last long after it is opened, even if you cap it right away. I wrote Loctite about that, and they acknowledged that once opened, it won't last very long.

**Q: Does this epoxy conduct electricity ?**
A: No it does not and I just checked it with my OHM Meter to make sure.

**Q: Can I use this to seal a crack on an aluminum engine to keep oil from leaking?**
A: If you get the aluminum super clean it might hold for a while if there isn't too much pressure, but it seems more like you need to get a good machine shopl to fix that engine block.
