For example I could connect a radar detector to this which has nothing to do with a dash cam and it will power that radar detector until the power it holds is drained. Having said the aforementioned; you may not benefit from all of the ‘smart’ bluetooth functions with integration to the Blackvue products that you might get if this was connected to a blackvue camera. But if you are simply looking to extend the run time of your thinkware camera and not drain your car battery this will work just fine. **Q: What if i hard wired this to the battery of the car of course useing a fuse and set up a switch to turn it on and off for charging it.** A: If you hardwire this to your battery or even via the fuse box the way I did, I have found that if you swap the connection to the B-124X from the DC in port to the expansion port it might just give you the boost you need should your battery die. Providing it's fully charged. When I'm parked at home, I turn the Blackvue battery off, so in theory yes. **Q: Will this work for my non Blackvue camera? Also, can I hardwire it to constant power with a voltage regulator?** A: It will work with non BlackVue cameras. With regards to hardwiring to constant power, we would not recommend as the purpose of the battery pack is also to prevent wear and tear on your vehicle battery. wiring to the constant fuse would defeat that purpose. **Q: Does this drain car battery when off? Using cigarette port lighter** A: If installed properly it will not drain your battery when car is off. It charges while car is running and when you switch car off the circuit that feeds the battery pack is shut off. However here on Amazon, it says I am no longer allowed to return or exchange it ending up with a $330 junk of a paperweight. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Battery for cars with sensitive computers! *by D***. on January 10, 2021* I have been running a BlackVue DR750S-2CH in my car for around a year. I originally had it hardwired straight to my fuse box with a power magic pro. This originally worked great but I noticed that because it used the car's battery, the computer on my Volvo S60 thought there was a drain and would always state Low Battery everytime I would start it. It was a minor inconvenience which this battery solves it as my dashcam will run on the separate battery. I was able to reset the computer and after running this for a week, I don't have that issue anymore so I highly recommend anyone with a European based car to get one of these. Also the battery life is as stated and I got a little over 20 hours with WiFi/GPS on my dashcam which is great. Because this battery uses lithium iron phosphate, it charges really quickly and because my commute is 35 minutes, the battery charges in no time when hardwired to the fuse box. Although if you use the 12 volt adaptor, it does take longer. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase of this battery and will probably buy the expansion. Only minor complaint was that it is a bit bigger than expected so I had to wire the battery inside my glovebox as it wouldn't fit under my seat in my car (amplifier and ecm). But it works great and for my car, I didn't even have to drill any holes which is a plus. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product and worth the hefty price tag *by J***Y on June 22, 2021* I read up a lot about this battery and was skeptical after reading mixed reviews but finally pulled the trigger and bought it and I couldn't be happier. The hardwire install is very easy (finding the right fuse is the hardest part) and the unit fits snug under my seat. The unit itself is large but I realize that the electronics inside this pack are different because it reaches a full charge in 40 minutes. This battery powers my Blackvue DR900X-2ch flawlessly and I run a 4G hotspot device off the USB port. This unit is pricey in comparison to other battery systems but I do believe that it is in a league of its own.
