I guess the idea is that you shift the short to center it on the breast that you want to feed with. The design just feels awkward. I didn't try nursing with it as I intend to return it. Unfortunate, the fabric seems nice and I like the range of colors this top is available in. I must admit, I have not washed yet so I can't review on how it holds up in the washers but I plan on washing it with like colors on gentle/cold and hang drying. It was a hot day and it was very breathable and cool. Definitely worth every penny.
