## Questions & Answers

**Q: Description says right angle but the image apprears to be an an axial design.**
A: It’s a linear actuator, but it can be screwed through the wall of a tank at a right angle to the water.

**Q: can it works with a 3V micro water pump to start and stop?**
A: The float switch is best to activate a relay.  I've experienced problems with float switches failing and shorting thus running the pump continuously and overflowing.  I run my system with 12VDC pumps and Relays... Hope this helps

**Q: Is the wire-side completely waterproof? I need to submerse several in a tank at various levels.**
A: they appear sealed, but I added silicone to be sure.

**Q: Do these have a closed resistance? I'd like to daisy chain several and read a collective value for how many are activated?**
A: very low resistance.  I believe it's a reed switch.  I use them with a relay board to switch a 120VAC pump and they work perfectly.

I have an effluent tank that pumps up hill to my septic field and I wanted a way of measuring the level in the tank. I already track the pump on and off time and with a few datapoints on the level I can really tell how well the system is working. Do I really need it? Who knows, but I like doing little projects like this and analyzing the data... What I do know is that an effluent tank is a NASTY environment and is very hard on so many different types of material. I don't know what these are made of but they've been working great for about 6 weeks now. I have a level gauge in my basement so I can always tell where the tank level is, a second alarm so I get a pre-warning and it all datalogs to a server so I can remove view it. I chose these because they seemed simple and were sealed. I use them with an ESP32 and they are normally open, close when the float raises up. I installed them threaded side down, but I believe you can remove the clip and flip the magnet to reverse the open and closed position. It's a magnetic switch so it should last a long time.
