Many thx in advance.** A: Rule of thumb, never thin one brand of paint with different brand. Although I have not tried it I do not recommend it. Tamiya does not make a flow improver, I thin Tamiya with isopropyl alcohol but it must be 90% isopropyl not 70%. Flow improver has a drying retarder that helps to avoid tip drying. I tend to use airbrush ready paints but I put a couple of drops of flow improver in the airbrush (gravity feed) before the paint for a nice flow. If you need to use thinner and do not mind an extended drying time use the flow improver as your thinner but still put a couple of drops of flow improver before your paint. **Q: When using non-airbrush paints, would it be useful use this with va airbrush thinner, or just use one?** A: Hi Jackson, from what I've read, the pigment powder of the non-air vallejo paints is not nearly as finely ground as the vallejo air paints. Thus the potential to clog in the airbrush is much higher. So to answer your question, I'd both thin your vallejo paint to whatever consistency works, then add 1 drop of the flow improver per 10 drops of paint. Also add a drop to the tip of airbrush needle, while moving the needle back and forth. Lastly, cap the cup so that you limit evaporation, since vallejo paints dry so quickly.
