I've gone back to backpacks after several years of across-body bags, because they are so much more comfortable with the weight more evenly distributed. Mine is a lovely rich burgundy that goes with so many colours, in soft leather that seems to be very good quality. It's neat and smart, well made, with enough detail in the curved pocket zip to make it interesting - I don't like too many zips and tassels and fiddly bits! It lies flat against your back, so doesn't bulge out like tie- top backpacks do. It's big enough to hold an A4 sized pad, folding brolly, bottle of water, a paperback and the usual handbag paraphernalia. I especially like the zipped pocket in the back for keeping purse and phone safe.
