It still glides well on the hook and gives a wonderful even tension. I've tried it will all types of crochet hooks... including bamboo and wood... it does very well. If you are substituting it for Super Saver take into account that this is an every so slightly thicker yarn with more heft. This yarn will be a bit more firm with less drape than Super Saver. I have a summer top pattern that called for Super Saver and I tried this but it had too much body and poofed out from the bodice down like a marshmallow. The Super Saver top had the proper drape in the baby doll style top so the bodice looked gathered but not puffy. It's a very slight difference but could be a game changer for some patterns.
