Things went great for 32 days (Past the Amazon return period) I used the setup a few hrs per week at most. I then had it running for over 24 hrs and that was the end. AP still working shows up with good range but no internet connection. The adapter has failed and now have to buy another. Not sure what the warranty process is; but so far have found no process to return it. I did order another one since I do need the AP up and running. Once the adapter stopped you can no longer get into the firmware through a browser to search and connect to other AP points. I have sent a request to Alfa.com.tw so we shall see what they say.I have a second one running at a different location and so far it is solid. Not using full time so it may fry as well.I suggest that if you buy and put it in service let her run 24/7 for the 3 weeks so if it fails during the burn in period you can return to Amazon. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect...if you buy it for the right reason! *by P***P on Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2013* Before I begin raving on why I am in ecstasy about this product, i'm going to clarify some misconceptions that seem to be floating around the lower review sections of this product.A wifi antenna, whether it is used to intensify the transmittance or reception of a signal can IN NO WAY improve the quality of the information carried by the signal, only buying faster internet can do that.The antenna CAN however pick up a signal if it is too quiet due to distance or wall interference. This will allow you to get full access to your internet speeds, but cannot magically exceed the limits of your internet carrier or wireless modem.If your internet speed is limited by a poor signal, than this adapter is what you are looking for. If your signal is fine, but you still aren't pleased with the resultant speeds, then you should take that up with your internet service provider, not buy a better wireless adapter.For those of you still reading this, I'll go into my own personal situation to better explain the usage of this product.I recently moved into a new apartment with internet included. Though the internet speeds were nothing to brag about, they were slightly better than what I was used to, so I can't complain. The problem was ACTUALLY GETTING the internet. Whereas before I was able to just my wireless adapter directly into the computer, I was now borrowing a usb extension from a neighbor, holding it in different parts of the air, and trying to find a place with a decent signal. The best I ever seemed to get was around 25 decibels, but I had to constantly nudge or rotate my wireless adapter back into place, or it would quickly drop down to 7 or 8.All I wanted was to have something I could place on the corner of my desk and not fiddle with every 15 minutes to consistently get my 25 decibel signal.20 minutes ago I unboxed my new Alfa AWUS036H, went through the unnecessarily complicated CD installation (which was still finished in under 5 minutes, no problem) placed the device on the corner of my desk, and checked my signal strength.Needing at least 25 decibels, but prepared to be pretty happy if I saw it around 30, I see that it is now at 42.I am over the moon!My internet speeds actually improved slightly, due to the better signals capacity to carry more information, but nothing to get too excited about. The real victory was in the fact that I no longer have to update the positioning of my wireless adapter.
