I’ll keep it brief:If not dried quickly, the metal bindings around the lid corrode. This means they lose their tension. The loss of tension means you can’t get a tight seal, potentially spoiling whatever is in the jar or in my case, causing annoying leaks. So if you do buy this product, ensure you promptly hand dry the lids.I thought this problem minor, until this morning.When I was preparing some cold brew coffee, the bottom of the jar simply broke. The water, coffee beans, and glass were all room temperature. I do not know what else to ascribe the 64oz of coffee beans and water currently coagulating all over my kitchen aside from the poor quality of glass these jars are made from.The non-stainless steel lid, coupled with the poor quality of the glass, leads me to believe this is simply a poor product and one I cannot recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great jars for my sourdough starter(s) *by S***L on Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2019* I recently started my own sourdough starter and needed a glass canister that would be a good size for my starter and I came across these on Amazon. I have to say, I am very happy with these glass canisters! They're the perfect size and I haven't had any issues with them at all. In fact, I ordered two more sets and gave one away to a friend that is also just starting to make her own sourdough bread! I can definitely see myself using these for other items in my pantry so will more than likely be buying more in the very near future. ### ⭐ Good for some foods but not as versatile as I hoped *by S***I on Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2019* Not airtight for flour. Holds snacks like lPretzels a couple weeks before they are stale or moist - not good to eat unless with humus or yogurt. Excellent for tea bags, coffee. Doesn’t have wide enough mouth for crackers. Wanted to keep foods in pantry ant free and dry. Works somewhat. Hard to open and close, metal comes off so you can wash in dishwasher but it’s a chore. I didn’t want more plastic in my life so I’m getting used to using them and changing my length of storing things. The metal rings can be difficult to get back on and can be loose or tight - quality seems to vary between different jars.
