I bought them as throw away earphones to leave in my car in case I should forget to grab some for the gym. Well they are way to good for that despite the price. Tonally they are extremely balanced for the entire spectrum. They have solid weight and excellent extension. I was expecting the usually cheap beats sound of bloated bass and or the cheap apple sound of thin screechy highs. Instead I heard a well balanced neutral sound. While these are definitely no embarrassment to my Cardas or B&W or even my Coppers they don't have the audiophile see through clarity. But those 'phones run upwards to $400. No the Bass is super defined like the Cardas or B&W, not the highs are as crystalline ( actually not even close) as the Coppers or EW&F monsters. However they sound extremely close to my HiFi Man 'phones both in extension and balance. Clarity is also surprising close. And the audiophile community considers those as one of the great bargains( if you can even still find those as they were discontinued).
