Review: Awesome Bed For Elderly Dogs and Younger Dogs - I am writing this review 5 months after receiving it. I had ordered it for an elderly Miniature Schnauzer with back and joint issues. The only regret I have is I didn't order this for him years ago. He loved it the 2 weeks that he had left on this earth. I am so glad I purchased this for him. This made his last days so much more comfortable. He used it continuously. The bed arrived a day earlier than expected. It said it required letting the bed fill out naturally for 24 hours or maybe 48 hours before using it. It arrives with all the air sucked out of it in plastic and expands when its opened. I didn't follow the directions, he was miserable, so he started using it in about 4 hours. It held a dog that was about 20 lbs. very well. The bed was 2 to 3 inches off the floor, so it was easy for a little dog to get on with mobility issues. The outside covering is removable and washable. I washed it once and it held up well when it began to smell. Washing it multiple times I can't make any comments there. The inside padding didn't have any smell and was not washed. The covering is thin and if you hold it up to the light you can see the light through it. However you don't notice it unless you hold it up to the light. The fur hides the thin covering well and it looks lush and full. I think it makes the bed a lot more comfortable for the dog. I haven't had any chewing issues at this point so I can't make any comments there. The puppy miniature schnauzer has used it for several weeks now. He isn't interested in chewing this. I highly recommend this product for the comfort it provides especially for small dogs with joint problems. The negative things I could say is the zipper could be a little better made. I had to be cautious when putting this over the foam. The Covering was thin too, but I covered that earlier. There may or may not be better made products out there but for the price I ranked this a 5 star. It was cheaper than products I purchased at local stores in the past when prices were cheaper than they are now. If you have an elderly dog with joint issues do your dog a favor and order this for them.

**Q: Is the foam in sheet form or shredded?**
A: It is a sheet of thin eggcrate foam that is less than 3" at the highest point and 1/2" at best between the points on the Jumbo size that I received.

**Q: Is it possible to order a new cover for this pet bed?**
A: You are better off ordering a new bed again from Amazon! The replacement cover from Furhaven's website for the jumbo bed was $29.99! For a few more bucks you get a new bed with cover.

**Q: What size would my fully grown German Shepard fit on?**
A: The 27 x 36 size is too small for my 47 lbs 14 yr old lab mix.  I ordered the 29.00 bed thinking that it would actually be large (40 x ?).  I feel badly done by.

**Q: is the bottom skid proof**
A: Hi Jan - the bottom is not skid-proof.  It is a coated, polycanvas material similar to what is used in outdoor chairs & furniture.  Thank you!

I am writing this review 5 months after receiving it. I had ordered it for an elderly Miniature Schnauzer with back and joint issues. The only regret I have is I didn't order this for him years ago. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful Dog Bed

Just got this last week. My dogs LOVE this bed. I have two dogs that share it, they're about 25lbs each. It came in a large box, was folded in half and immediately fluffed out to shape. When I put it on the floor, my male dog immediately got on it and started rubbing his head into it and rolling on it. This bed is so comfy that when my grandkids spent the night last Friday, each one of them ended up laying on the bed, they loved it too. LOL The fabric is furry and very soft but the foam part is sturdy. My 6 year old grandson laid on it to watch cartoons Sat. morning for hours and it did not flatten out at all. When just one of my dogs lay on it, they stretch out completely and are in heaven! So glad I got this bed for them. Update: I've had this bed for one month exactly and I just washed the cover for the first time on the gentlest cycle in cool water, dried in on delicate cycle. It came out like new. My dogs are in love with this bed, and so am I. They get so comfy on it and it hasn't flattened out one bit, and that's with all my grandkids laying on it too.
