Review: Perfect Breakfast Pan - I was a little skeptical about the size. I really wanted a 10: skillet but this 8" works fine. I use it mostly for breakfast and it's the perfect size for my eggs. Heats up hot and fast so start on the lower settings until you get used to it. Already burned food myself! Easy to clean.. no dish washer. Just wipe it down with a damp sponge or rag. I also read that the spray oils destroy the non-stick coating on these pans so I've been using butter. I don't know for sure if that's true, but why take the chance. I do recommend this for small cooking jobs.
Review: Very Happy with My Purchase - I originally purchased the 7" Elite brand Electric Skillet, and used it 3 times, but was VERY Unhappy with it. it Sucked Big time! it wouldn't cook potatoes properly, and it'd cook only One side of a Grilled Cheese sandwich Perfectly but NOT the other side at all. as I said, I tried 3 times, and got the Same Result Every Time. Unlike the Elite brand one I bought first, it has a Temperature rating, so I Actually Know what Temperature I'm Cooking my food at. the Elite brand has only a High, Medium & Low temperature, which doesn't tell me Diddly Squat! and it takes FOREVER to cook food properly (if at all). This one, my food was done Properly in a few minutes or so. Which made me Very Happy. it doesn't take up a lot of space, which is good for me, as I don't have a lot of space of where to put it at, to cook my food. it's Very Easy to Clean... and it's the Perfect size for a Single person like me, who doesn't like to cook too much food at one time.. So I can make Healthy portions for myself, and not have to worry about Left overs. not that I mind left overs. LOL! **Q: Does the temp control use temp numbers or just low, med, high?**
A: I have two of these and both have degree settings and on both, setting it on the '5' in 275° will give a constant average temp of 205° without ever reaching 212°... the perfect answer to all day simmering for a two person entree, or two meals for one. I love this thing.
It's not great for frying, though, as its heat is concentrated in a circular pattern following the heating element.
It is 800 watts, but one must remember that that only applies when it calls for heat. In my case that is only about 10% of the time, which puts a 10 hour simmer at about 0.8 KWH @ 124VAC (or 0.4 KWH on your utilie's meter). A very cheap date

**Q: -  What are the dimensions of this item?**
A: The pan itself is 8x8. With the handles you can add about 3 inches. 2 inches deep. I love this little pan. It works great for cooking for 2 people. I have used it for everything from scrambled eggs to small pot roast. Great for all.

**Q: Can you cook a full box of macaroni or those dinner in a bags??**
A: Thank you for your question.  The ES-08 is a small fry pan.  It would be too small to boil the water needed for macaroni or a dinner in a bag.  There is a larger model, ES-12 that would work better for the quantity you need.

**Q: is this all one piece or does the skillet detach?**
A: Thank you for you question.  The skillet with the legs are one piece once assembled.  The lid and the thermostat insert are separate parts.

I was a little skeptical about the size. I really wanted a 10: skillet but this 8" works fine. I use it mostly for breakfast and it's the perfect size for my eggs. Update: I love this. Besides burgers, pancakes, french toast, I have "baked" biscuits in this. Also frozen potatoes, french fries, and tater tots. It is easier for me than my oven. This things has worked great ever since I got it plugged in correctly. It is light, easy to clean, easy to handle, heats up quickly. It just works well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: This really is not nearly as difficult to plug in as some of the reviews say. Just push it in firmly. But I don't unplug it often. The heat is totally even. So little fluctuation that I can do four pancakes one at a time with no waiting. I believe the negative reviews are almost all due to not plugging it in properly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I really wanted to like this. I need this. I slow roast almost all of the meat and poultry I eat and than just heat it up in the microwave. But burger doesn't work that way. I received this a couple of days ago. Tried it three times. It seemed to take a long time to heat up. The light never went out. Just didn't work very well. I figured that I got a bad one. I went back and read through some of the reviews. This one has better reviews than most of the little ones. I would prefer a stainless steel cooking surface, but those were larger and cost more. Than I saw a review that said it was difficult to plug the temperature control in. It hadn't been for me. I had plugged and unplugged it a couple of times. I went back and tried pushing the thing in harder. It went. Plugged in nice and solid. I'm not frail. I work on cars, motorcycles, computers, houses. I should have caught this, but it felt like it was plugged in. Now it works great. Heated up quickly. The light went out when it was hot. It does cycle on and off, like most electric cooking devices. But my burger never stopped sizzling so the temperature didn't drop much. So glad I don't need to clean it up enough to send back.
