Di sicuro Gedda per padronanza tecnica e ampiezza sconfinata di repertorio è stato il tenore fra i più grandi del secolo insieme ad altri due suoi connazionali Svanholm e Bjoerling.Purtroppo, in Italia, il suo stile è stato poco apprezzato perché per nulla sbracato rispetto agli standard all’epoca. È un po’ lo stesso rimprovero che alcuni hanno mosso verso Alfredo Kraus che però gli era sostanzialmente inferiore per voce e capacità tecniche.In ogni caso Gedda è idiomatico nel repertorio francese come lo spagnolo.In ogni caso Gedda ha fatto la storia del canto sempre ed è un modello ancora ineguagliato.In ogni caso anche lui ha avuto una sua perla nera mai riversata in CD:  il “cessa di più resistere” del Barbiere di Siviglia del 1975 che è presente ma trovo sempre inascoltabile negli LP originali. Si sarebbe potuto sacrificare anche allora …Questo box vale per ogni cosa che contiene perché un tenore così non lo sentiremo mai più e quotidianamente ci confrontiamo con dei dilettanti allo sbaraglio.
