My hob manufacturers guide specifies that this must be 90 degC or higher, is this suitable ?** A: Hi. H07RNF isnt classified as ‘heat’ cable although it is a very ‘industrial’ cable. Depending on the load requirement of your hob a Heat resistant cable would be more appropriate. 👍 **Q: Would this be suitable for connecting an electric Induction Hob (i.e is it heat proof?)** A: I bought this for my electric oven and works fine **Q: Is this ok for ovens** A: Working fine for our oven connection. Very flexible and easy to install. **Q: Does this work for hobs where 4 wires are required?** A: That depends on what the instructions for your hob say, in terms of cable size required and how to connect up. Without this information, nobody can answer you definitively. Normally, in UK, for standard hob with two "zones", a link piece is provided by the manufacturer to join the two live feed terminals L1 & L2, N neutral & E earth are "common". One zone (L1) supplies half of the hot plates and L2 the other half. As it clearly states, this cable has three cores only, and in the above scenario would be connected green/yellow to the Earth terminal, blue to the Neutral terminal, and brown to one of the Live terminals with a link piece or short piece of brown wire between that terminal and the adjacent L terminals. The exceptions to this would possibly be large hobs in a catering kitchen and (more common in Europe) hobs where the load is spread across two supply phases, this is why there are two "zones". You MUST look at the printed instructions or download them from the manufacturers website to be certain.
