Great... while it lasted
I'm a high school coach that occasionally has to drive the kids to meets. I needed something that I could plug in, set up quickly, get the music going, and also be something I could use in both the district school bus or suburban. This worked great! I loaded up an 8 gig USB drive, synched the station between the player and the radio and it worked as I expected. I did have issues with static on the first couple channels I tried, however that was minimized once I switched frequencies. Three caveats: 1) Use a smaller USB drive (under 8 gig) as I've read about problems reading larger drives; 2) remember to REMOVE the device when you stop the car for longer periods, as you'll drain your car's battery; and 3) when you reinsert the device, it does NOT remember the last song you were on and instead starts at the beginning -- another reason to use a smaller drive. The problem? This product is definitely not built for longevity. The connector tip fell off at some point after my third trip, and now it's useless. The functionality is worth it to me, though, so I've ordered another one, however this time I'll examine the unit more closely and see if there's a way I can secure the tip so that it doesn't fall off again.

Okay while it lasted.
I had this for 6 months and it was fine during that time, but the input jack just broke and fell inside of the unit. It can also play MP3s from a card/USB drive, but the volume/sound is just way too low when compared to plugging in an external MP3 player, so I threw it out.I just ordered this one to replace it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HR0ZTD4/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I went with that one to keep it simple. I doubt any of the ones that play MP3s from a card (in this price range) sound good, so I just wanted the simple adapter to use my own MP3 player or phone.Just keep your expectations realistic for anything in this price range. If I had to drive across the country in a car that didn't have an MP3 stereo, I'd pay this much just for one trip to avoid the suffering... so 6 months of use probably isn't too bad for the price. ;)

sweet deal
If i was little red riding hood and this was the big bad wolf, my first words would have been: "My, what cheap plastic you have." Think happy meal or dollar store. Anyway it plugs in solidly (thats what she said) into my 06 Jetta which lacks 3.5mm or usb connectivity. It seems so fragile I'm just going to leave it plugged in and not eff with it. The connection is assured and doesn't go out after going over bumps in the road unlike another more celebrated and more expensive product I've bought & reviewed on amazon. It connects beautifully with my sansa clip +. What was awesome and unexperienced previously was the ability to plug in a usb flash device and have it quickly read the podcast i had stored there. Mind you this flash device had a bunch of other work related pdfs and word docs, but only the mp3 came up on the illuminated window. The sound is satisfactory and for the money this is a 5 star buy. If I was Warren Buffet this would be a Walmart.

Low volume broadcast to the radio
I bought this because my 12+ year old CD player was becoming overheated after about 10 hours of continuous play on my regular 14-hour drives. A 4 GB SD card is sufficient for enough music for the entire trip. However, I found that the signal while using the SD card was rather weak, and I had to turn the volume up so far that background static came through. This was also the case when I put the SD card in a USB card reader and used the USB port, as one would expect. With an MP3 player connected to the earplug port I was able to turn the MP3 player up enough to get acceptable volume without static. This of course limits me to the 1 GB size of my MP3 player. This might not be a problem if you have software that allows you to set your recording volume when creating MP3 files, but not everyone has this capability.

Wireless MP3 Player
I bought this for my husband as an alternative to burning CD's for him, that don't usually work in his car. For the price, I'd say that it works well enough. However, it's not perfect. It doesn't fit tightly in the cig lighter, so it skips on occasion. Sometimes when going over bumps, sometimes for no reason at all. The remote only works if it's positioned perfectly, and that position is hard to find. If you try and touch the buttons manually, it will skip. We found it very difficult to switch from album to album or song to song. So, I removed all the music from the USB drive I bought, to go along with this. Then, I just made him a play list of his favoite music. So, now he just puts it in and let's it play. Also, we have to change the frequency pretty often when we travel. It's not great, but for now it will do.

Clear radio quality sound
Purchased this for my 05' Nissan Murano after the CD/Aux player stopped working. The unit broke and it was a costly fix $$.I decided to avoid the cost since there were more pressing mechanical issues in the truck that needed to be addressed first (CVT specifically). So, day after day, I was driving to and from work listening to JUST FM radio; ..if I hear that McDonald's Commercial ONE MORE TIME. *Counts to ten, ..calm*Ok, so I looked stumbled upon this as an alternative solution to my dilemma. It works through the FM radio, so expect FM radio quality sound.I loaded a 4gig SD card with my MP3s and this thing works great. The sound is clear, but of course as I stated before, it's radio quality, also it's a little on the low volume side so you'll need to turn your stereo up significantly with highway speeds/windows down. It does not "punch" like an actual CD or direct input might, but it does the job nicely for cheap.I like it and will continue to use it for my sanity. There is nothing worse than being stuck in rush hour traffic with just FM radio, buy this. I always go for the cheapest shipping, but this was a must needed 2-Day Rush; literally just arriving in the nick of time before a meltdown. THANK YOU AMAZON and Seller..I literally almost teared up in relief.**Note** It comes with a 3.5 to 3.5 cable so you can connect your phone or MP3 player directly as well. Also the remote is a nice touch to flip through songs!

Cheap at twice the price......
I have to admit I was a bit cynical about this, especially due to the price, but decided it was worth a go and have never regretted it. It certainly beats messing about with a car glove box full of CD's. Eventually managed to fill a 2GD memory card with my favourite songs and there must be hundreds of them, shoved it into the cigarette lighter, found a free frequency (87.5fm) and away you go. One bit of advice though, if you decide to listen to the car radio instead turn the volume down first (on the car stereo) as the output on this is not brilliant and you have to compensate by turning up the volume on the car's system. Not that I ever needed it but I've now lost the cigarette lighter thingy. Other than that I've had mine for a while now with no issues at all and consider this a great buy. With the appropriate 240v to 12v adapter plug I've even used it at home with my Technics stereo system using the same frequency setting. Top tip - set the chosen frequency as a pre-set station to avoid having to fiddle about in the future.

Does what they say, but dull sound
For the price it's a very fair way to hear your music conveniently from a USB stick, and I have no problems with tuning, signal strength or background noise - only the occasional interference as expected when driving past banks generating RF interference from computers or whatever (that's from a 12v socket positioned near the gear stick and radio, with the car aerial being up above on front center of the roof - no sun roof with this car). However, the sound level is rather quiet even with good strong MP3 tracks, so the volume needs to be turned way up. And there simply isn't any treble worth speaking of, I've tried all the EQ presets, but even with the radio on +9 TREBLE there just isn't any sparkle to the audio at all. Yes you can still enjoy a track you love, like you can on MW AM radio, but it seems like a lot is missing at the top end (it doesn't make full use of 'FM quality') and I wonder if one of those cassette adaptors and a normal MP3 player might have been a better choice.... but that costs a quite a bit more, doesn't it? :)If you're not fussy about sound, your car speakers aren't wonderful, you just want to listen to speach based podcasts or audiobooks, or you're of senior years and your ears aren't what they used to be, then it's fine. Oh, and the remote needs to be right next to it before it registers, but at least that's easier than squinting down at the thing. It's cheap and it does what it says on the pack. Just don't expect miracles! Such a shame they didn't pay a little more attention to the sound quality or it would be a 10/10 bargain.(Update) : It only lasted a few months, now it's totally dead. Maybe the wife broke it and won't admit it, it wouldn't be the first time :)It looks ok, but it's just a lump of useless plastic now. Couldn't be bothered to complain or return it, but thought I might as well update this review.

Great sound, shame about the build quality
This worked fantastically for just over a month, but then the spring loaded electric connector at the end dropped out (goodness knows where)... And the fit in my Punto's power outlet was a bit loose as well... The overall build quality does feel very cheap, plus it's a bit bulky for me and the LCD display is tiny - since most power outlets are, I imagine, quite low down, it makes it impossible to read (well, at least for me and my old eyes!) But then I guess that once you've got it tuned into your radio, you wouldn't be trying to retune it whilst driving anyway, huh?BUT the sound quality was fine even at mid volume. I didn't try the memory card or USB stick function - just used it connected directly to my phone. I did find that the USB connector didn't work as a charger, sadly (not sure if this is by design or not?)So I'm afraid I've had to give a competitor's product a go, although it'll cost a couple quid more (ie £10 vs £6ish)...

Works a treat
Been using this for a week now and it's super easy to use. It was set at 100fm when I plugged it in, so I tuned my radio to that frequency, turned on my iPod and all is dandy!I've had no problems with the sound quality. In my Nissan micra it can go quite loud, as good as the radio and also my cd's. any louder would be uncomfortable so I haven't tried it. I've only used it with an iPod, not the USB. Its dashboard buttons are made of super cheap silver plastic but I wouldn't expect more for the price of the product and I didn't even need to read the manual. It's so easy to use, the wire to connect your iPod isn't too long that its going to get tangled or in the way. I've never used the remote as its always just me in the car so I can't comment on that.It works, the sound is good and it is at a great price. I certainly recommend this.

You get what you pay for
I bought this in a hurry as I bought a second hand car with no CD player or functional tape deck and needed music! The device does work, but it obviously doesn't have a very strong broadcast signal as the sound is very scratchy - I thought my speakers were blown too until I tuned into Radio 1 and the sound was perfect even at volume. For the price its a handy gadget but it is no where near perfect. I have a 4gb memory card plugged into it and it does recognise folder structure for me too. However, having plugged an mp3 player, and my phone, into the cable provided, and then tried in a supermarket purchased FM broadcaster I have to say the supermarket version (I got 2 for the same price as this on a deal) worked better - no dodgy scratching through the speakers.I wouldn't buy this again and would instead use a smart phone/mp3 and a stand alone FM broadcaster. It did get me out of a hole on a 5 hr drive but if you like reasonable sound quality then buy something else, this will drive you nuts.
